Carroll County Has 4, Weakley 1 Positive COVID-19 Cases

NASHVILLE (MARCH 27) Carroll County now has four confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus and Weakley County has its first. Henry County Medical Center treated its first cases of COVID-19 which was a patient from another county.

Tennessee now has 1,203 persons (957 one day earlier) who have tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as of 2 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020.

According to the Tennessee Department of Health, Carroll County now has four persons who tested positive, at least one of which is in McKenzie. 
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China. Additional cases have been identified in a growing number of other international locations, including the United States. 

Patients with COVID-19 have had mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms of: fever, cough, and shortness of breath. It is 10 times more deadly than influenza.
Can people in the U.S. get COVID-19? Yes. COVID-19 is spreading from person to person in parts of the United States. Risk of infection with COVID-19 is higher for people who are close contacts of someone known to have COVID-19, for example healthcare workers, or household members. Other people at higher risk for infection are those who live in or have recently been in an area with an ongoing spread of COVID-19. The first case of COVID-19 in the United States was reported on January 21, 2020.
Nationwide, there are a total of 85,356 cases (68,440 one day earler, 44,183 three days earlier and 33,404 four days earlier) with 1,246 deaths (994 one day earlier, and 400 three days earlier). Many major cities have closed all commerce, schools, bars and restaurants plus ordered citizens to shelter in place.
Davidson County has the largest number with 216 (203 one day earlier and 183 three days earlier), Shelby has 201 (147 one day earlier and 99 three days earlier), Williamson has 91 (70 one day earlier and 64 three days earlier). In other west Tennessee counties, Weakley has one, Chester 2, Dyer 3, Fayette 3, Gibson 2, Madison 3, Tipton 10, and Hardin 1.
The ages of the confirmed cases are: 0-9 years, 15; 11-20, 63; 21-30, 314; 31-40, 194; 41-50, 196, 51-60, 191; 61-70, 126; 71-80, 75, and 80-plus, 20. Unknown age is 9. The person from Weakley County is not yet on the state statistics.
