Carroll County Library Hosts Second Harvest Food Drop

HUNTINGDON (June 19) — The Carroll County Library partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee for a perishable and frozen “Food Drop” Friday at the Carroll County Office Complex. 560 boxes of food, each containing 21.5 pounds of frozen meat, dairy and produce, were distributed to over 260 families. Assisting in the distribution were (L to R): Lacy Yeley, UT Extension agent; Alex Cunningham, center coordinator for McKenzie and Huntingdon Head Start/Early Head Start; Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler; Lea Harris, family advocate for McKenzie Head Start/Early Head Start; Jennifer Thornton, director of Carroll County Library; Grace Hawkins, children’s librarian for Carroll County Library; Donna Vick, donor relations manager for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee (Ray Smith Family Distribution Center, Camden); and Amy Rangnow, library volunteer.
