While keeping busy offering curbside services, children’s grab-n-go meals, virtual and in-person programming and computers by appointment, the Carroll County Library staff have also been tirelessly working to bring patrons new materials, programming and technological access.
Most recent materials acquisitions include extensive additions to all graphic novel collections, the introduction of pop-up books for all ages and hotspots–devices used to extend internet access to remote areas. All of these items are currently listed in the library database and available for checkout.
In addition to regularly-scheduled programming, the library will join Discovery Park of America and other regional libraries in creating a socially-distanced Storybook Drive in which participants remain in their cars and simply drive through a fun retelling of the classic book The Three Little Pigs Saturday, July 25, 9-10 a.m.
Also coming soon to the library are technology classes in the following areas: Adult/Teen Resume Building; Online Job Search and Application Process; Computer and Online Basics; Computer and Online Privacy and Security; Social Media Basics; Digital Presentations/Sharing - Google Docs/Drive, Office Suite, “The Cloud,” etc.; Internet Searching Basics; Digital Design Basics; and Library Resources - Online Database and Beyond.
Please call the library to be placed on the class list. These classes will be offered virtually and in-person. Exact dates and times will be announced at a later date.
As always, the library provides free 24-hour access to wi-fi, including parking lot access for social distancing and after-hours needs; current event notifications and online programming through social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube; and online access to their database https://tenv.agverso.com/dashboard?cid=tenv&lid=carrollco. To browse and request materials, simply log in with your library card number and personal password.
For more information on any of these programs and services, stop by the library in Huntingdon, call us at 731-986-1919 or message us on our Facebook page, Carroll County Library.
