Warmer days are just around the corner. Of course, we all know March can be a tricky month with the weather. Hopefully the winter weather will go away before March arrives.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 13 with a delicious barbecue luncheon provided by Dick Swader, Care Transition Coordinator with American Health Communities. Life Care provided the dessert for our luncheon. We thank those who provided the food. After lunch we chose Senior Sweethearts and the winners were Maurice and Ivogene Pinson, married for 67 years. Mary Bullington won our Valentine word search game. Congratulations to our winners!
In recognition of Black History Month, we traveled to Alex Haley’s boyhood home and museum in Henning, Tennessee. After a very interesting tour we headed to downtown Brownsville to ZZ’s Restaurant for a very enjoyable lunch. Everyone enjoyed the day even if it was a cold one!
A new activity has been added to the March calendar. Phyllis Wendt will teach a Stamp In’ Up card making class on Friday, March 6, 10 a.m. until noon. The cost is $5, which is paid to Phyllis for supplies on the day of the class. If you are interested in learning how to make your own greeting cards call our office to register.
