Theft of Services — Two local men and a woman were charged April 20 during an investigation into the alleged theft of electricity at a Huntingdon residence.
Roger Prater, 39, of 310 Enoch Cemetery Road was arrested for theft of services and an active warrant. April Johnson (age and address not provided) was arrested on an active warrant out of Henderson County. Gabriel A. Hillsman, 42, of 1565 Huckleberry Hill Road, Atwood, was cited for driving on a suspended license (fourth offense). According to the report by Deputy Michael Smith, deputies went to 135 Humphreys Road near Huntingdon after receiving information that people living at that address were stealing electricity from the Carroll County Electric Department, which had recently pulled the meter from that residence due to non-payment. Deputies observed that lights were on at the residence and that suspicious green wires were hanging from the meter base. Prater came out on the porch and was arrested on an outstanding warrant and for theft of services. Johnson was also found at the residence and arrested on an outstanding warrant. While at the residence, deputies observed Hillsman driving by in a vehicle belonging to Prater, and because they had prior knowledge that Hillsman’s license was suspended, Deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop.
ATV Theft — The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the recent theft of an off-road vehicle from private property near Huntingdon. According to the report by Deputy Ethan Parham, deputies went to 1365 Green Allen Springs Road on April 20 and spoke with Henry County resident Clint Ellis, who told officers that his 2006 Polaris ATV had been stolen from a shed on property belonging to his father. Ellis said the vehicle was last seen on April 16. A neighbor told deputies that a black Blazer pulling a trailer was seen on the property on April 18. Ellis said that the ATV, which he valued at $6,000, has a crack in the windshield, a closed cab with no doors, sliding back glass, two separate lights on top, a cab light, a back light, and a broken rear sway bar.
Drug Violations — Two Huntingdon men were arrested on multiple drug charges during an April 20 traffic stop in Huntingdon.
Shane Spencer Ridley, 46, and Bryan King, 30, both of 2910 Buena Vista Road, were both charged with possession of a schedule II drug with intent, possession of a schedule VI drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the report by Deputy Cody S. Walker, he pulled over a gray Dodge pickup truck driven by Ridley on Lexington Street because the truck had a headlight out. King was a passenger in the vehicle. Walker noted that he had pulled this same vehicle over five days earlier and had arrested the woman driving it on drug charges. When asked, Ridley said that woman was his fiancé. After getting Ridley’s consent to search the vehicle, Walker found 2.5 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, a pipe used to smoke marijuana, two spoons, 51 plastic baggies, and four grams of a substance believed to be marijuana. Both Ridley and King said the drugs did not belong to them. Ridley told Walker that he was feeling like he was about to have a seizure, but when EMS responders were called the scene, they didn’t find anything wrong with him.
Burglary/Theft — Deputies are looking into the recent burglary of a residence near Huntingdon.
Vicki Matthews advised deputies on April 22 that someone had broken into her home and had stolen her 40” flat screen television earlier that day. Matthews said she left the house and around 10:30 a.m., and when she returned home at around 2:30 p.m., she found that her front door had been pried open. The TV was valued at $400.

Criminal Trespassing — Four men were arrested April 23 for allegedly trespassing on private property in Atwood.
Antonio Germaine Walker, 20, of McLemoresville; Isaac S. Bobbitt, 22, of Atwood; Al-Kareem Williamson, 19, of Milan; and Anthony Thomas of Milan were all charged with aggravated criminal trespassing and resisting stop/frisk/halt. Williamson was also charged with possession of marijuana. According to the report by Deputy Jason Walker, Orlando Ross called the Sheriff’s Department at around 9:20 p.m., saying that a neighbor had called him and told him that several people were in his house at 240 Bryant Road while he was away from home. Deputy Walker reported that when he pulled into the driveway, he saw four black males run out of a shed beside the house. Deputies caught and arrested Williamson, Thomas, and Walker that night, and Bobbitt was arrested later.
Shot Fired — The Sheriff’s Department is looking into an April 23 incident in which a McKenzie man discharged a firearm.
According to the report by Deputy Christopher Adams, he responded to call about a shot fired at 410 Enon Church Road. Adams spoke with April Blackburn, who said that her boyfriend, Christopher C. Martin, got angry at her for selling her horse, then he started drinking, and then he told her to get out. Blackburn said she called her ex-boyfriend, Christopher Zellers, to come over and help her remove her dogs from the premises. While he was at the residence, Zellers fired one round into the ground with a handgun. Zellers told Adams that he fired the round after Martin had stepped out of the house with a gun in his hand. Martin said that Zellers walked up, shot into the ground, got back in his truck and left. A check of Martin’s firearm showed that it was stolen. Martin said that he had acquired the firearm from a man on Craigslist about four years ago.
License Violation — A Huntingdon woman was arrested during an April 24 traffic stop on Green Valley Road.
Brittany Davis Lott, 28, of 2880 Renfroe Road was charged with driving on a revoked license (third offense). According to the report by Deputy Cody Walker, he pulled over a red Ford F150 driven by Lott because he knew that Lott’s license had been revoked for a previous DUI conviction. Walker confirmed this by computer check. Walker seized Lott’s vehicle because of civil paperwork filed for lack of payment on the truck.
Firearms Violations — A McKenzie man was arrested April 25 after firearms were found at his residence.
Rodney Allan Patterson, 53, of 28 Langford Store Road was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. According to the report by Deputy Tony G. King, he and other deputies went to Patterson’s residence after a state probation officer requested assistance in conducting a check of Patterson’s home. As King noted, Patterson is on the Sexual Offender Registry and is under lifelong supervision. During the search, officers found 13 firearms, including two handguns, eight shotguns, and three rifles, as well as ammunition. King reported that three of the firearms were loaded, and all of the weapons were unsecured and easily accessible.
