Carroll, Henry County Are Among Top 5 Retirement Counties in State

Stacker compiled a list of the top 15 best counties to retire in Tennessee using data from Niche. Niche ranks counties based on a variety of factors, including cost of living, healthcare, recreation and weather.

When seniors ages 65 years or older decide where to retire, they consider specific factors such as the cost of living, government services, health care facilities, weather and overall climate, crime rate, outdoor recreational activities, eating establishments, cultural and entertainment opportunities, and more.

Location is critical as retirees determine where to spend their senior years enjoying favorite activities; however, it is a unique decision based on a multitude of preferences and needs.

Carroll County was ranked as the fifth best retirement county in Tennessee, and Henry County was ranked fourth best.

Niche grades for Carroll County are as follows: good for retirees (A), cost of living (A), weather (B), and outdoor activities (C+).

The following cities and towns are Niche’s top places to live in the county: McKenzie (B+), Clarksburg (B), and Huntingdon (B).
