Carroll Lake Opening Postponed

Posted

McKENZIE — Carroll Lake will not reopen tomorrow, April 4 as originally planned.
A statement from Tim Broadbent, Fisheries Biologist for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reads as follows:
The Carroll Lake opening has been postponed to a later date. The Agency as well as the public was looking forward to opening Carroll Lake and providing another recreational area for Carroll Countians. However, Covid-19 has continued to increase and Governor Lee’s recent stay at home order along with the possibility of attracting hundreds of people to a confined area influenced the Agency to delay the opening. The Agency believes that this is the best decision at this time to help protect public health and safety. The Agency looks forward to opening the lake in the near future.
