Carroll County Humane Society’s annual banquet is Saturday, November 9 from 5-8 p.m. at The Venue at Waddell Place, 894 Joy Sparks Road, McKenzie. CCHS will be celebrating its 20th year of saving lives in the community. Each ticket is $30 (cash or check) and can be purchased at CCHS, Huntingdon Animal Clinic or Paris Vet Clinic. Please be sure to get your tickets early as there is always a waiting list or people needing them at the last minute. Crossroads Custom Catering will be catering the event. Social hour begins at 5 p.m.; appetizers will be served, including chilled spinach dip with chips and crostinis, sweet and spicy meatballs and ricotta on bruschetta. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., including chicken marsala, tossed salad, mashed potato bar, southern-style green beans, yeast rolls and tea. Desserts will include triple chocolate cake, red velvet cheesecake and strawberry cake. There will be silent and live auctions. Items in the live auction will be: a wooden flag made by a local artisan to benefit the Donald Hill Memorial Dog Spay and Neuter Fund; a “Pamper Your Paws” gift basket full of goodies and gift certificates to benefit the Martha Highfill Memorial Cat Spay and Neuter Fund; and a “Night on the Town” gift basket featuring movie tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more to benefit the Billy Gene Stafford Memorial Heartworm Treatment Fund. If you would like to auction items for either the silent or live auctions, please contact either Catherine Clark Perritt at email@example.com or Lisa Langford Hawkins at firstname.lastname@example.org or drop your items by the shelter.
