Mudslingers Pottery Studio and The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center are once again hosting opportunities to experience the hands-on basics of pottery under the tutelage of accomplished artist and instructor Candace Gooch-Ward beginning Tuesday, February 4.
Both adult and children sessions are offered this season. Classes are Tuesday evenings at Mudslingers Pottery Studio starting February 4 through March 10. Children’s classes for Grades 2nd - 4th are 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Grades 5th - 8th are 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. Adult classes are 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
The price for adult sessions is $170 per student per session with the opportunity to display their work in an exhibit Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 6 p.m. at Mudslingers Studio in downtown Huntingdon. Children’s sessions are $120 per student per session with the opportunity to exhibit at Mudslingers Studio on Thursday, April 2 at 5:30 pm.
Classes are limited to 10 students per class and will focus on the basic pottery skills of pinching, coil building, slab construction, and throwing on the potter’s wheel. Students will also be introduced to glazing and firing processes.
