County to Vote On Industrial Access Road

Posted

HUNTINGDON — Carroll County commissioners will vote to contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation to construct an industrial access road for Pottery Direct in the industrial park at the Carroll County Airport. The proposed work is along Rochelle Store Road.
Last year, the county budgeted $25,000 during this fiscal year to construct a road, however, after Mayor Joseph Butler worked with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the department has agreed to participate and construct an industrial-grade access road to serve Pottery Direct, which will start construction later this year, and other industries. The total project is expected to cost over $1 million, with the county’s outlay under $25,000.
In other business, the commission will consider resolutions to apply for a litter and trash grant from TDOT, appoint Johnny Blount to the Audit Committee, and to approve a budgetary transfer of $13,435.75 for proceeds from the insurance company to cover vehicle damage in the Sheriff’s Department.
Commissioners convene Monday, May 13, 7 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Carroll County Office Complex.
