Mr. Ruel David Gibson, 73 of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Private family funeral services were Friday.  Interment was in Bethel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to: The Huntingdon Quarterback Club or Huntingdon High School Girls Softball team.

Mr. Gibson was born November 1, 1946 in McKenzie to the late Gilford Washington and Blanche Mae (Reynolds) Gibson. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for several years, a former School Board member and a member of the Huntingdon Quarterback Club and was instrumental in organizing girls’ softball in the early seventies. He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Era Veteran.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Gibson and Harold “Hoot” Gibson and a sister, Dorothy Irby.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margie Jane Gibson, two daughters, Angie Turner (David) of Huntingdon, Barbara Wallace (Randall) of Lexington, and a brother Gilford Junior Gibson (Cathy) of McKenzie.  He also leaves seven grandchildren, Dustin Wallace (Jennifer), Ryan Wallace (Katie), Logan Wallace, Brett Gibson, Lindsay Townes (Desmond), Lincoln Webb (Chris), Alex Walters and thirteen great-grandchildren.
