HUNTINGDON — Early voting is underway for the August 4 general election and state and federal primaries.
On Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16, a total of 302 votes were cast during early voting in Carroll County. The were 236 voting Republican, 54 voting Democrat, and 12 declaring no party and thus not voting in the party primaries.
Voters across Tennessee will go to the polls on August 4 to elect candidates to various offices. In Carroll County, the general election includes all county offices and all school board offices, along with primaries in state representatives, governor, and U.S. Congress.
Voter registration deadline was July 5. Early voting started Friday, July 15 and continues to July 30, absentee ballot deadline is July 28, and election day is August 4. Early voting is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon. And no matter what you read on social media, Tennessee requires voters to present a current or expired photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government when you vote in person.

County Commission District 2 (elect 2): Daniel Willman (R), Bertha Taylor (D), and Lana Suite (I).
County Commission District 3 (elect 2): Will McMackin (I), Joey Simmons (I), and Larry Spencer (I).
