Posted

HUNTINGDON (March 19) — Carroll County Electric Board of Directors approved a contract with ATA CPA firm to conduct the financial audit at a rate of $16,110, a three percent increase over the previous cost.
In other business, Danny Brawner, system manager, said the new AMI meters are being installed at every residential electric customer and later at commercial customers. Contractors are proceeding with the installation and have made installs in Trezevant, Huntingdon, and Atwood areas and was starting on McKenzie.
The new meters will be read at the central office instead of in-person reading as previously required. The meters can also detect problems of improper voltage or outages and communicate those problems to the central office in Huntingdon. If a customer phones about their monthly billing, personnel at the central office can provide details of daily electrical usage, said Brawner.
The Board set April 25 as the next meeting.
