Elemental Music Begins February 5 at The Dixie

Posted

Birdsong School of Music, in partnership with The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center, is proud to offer Elemental Music for ages 2-11 beginning Friday, February 5.
Classes are Friday evenings at The Dixie for a 12-week semester starting February 5 through April 30, 2021 (there will be a break for Spring Break). Pricing is $200 per student for the semester, and all materials are provided.
Elemental Music teaches the basic principles of music, which is accomplished by using music, movement, speech, drama, listening and imagination. Birdsong School of Music’s program is based on the Orff Schulwerk approach, which has been tried and tested around the world for almost 100 years.

Instruction is accomplished in a classroom situation that encourages play, cooperation, leadership, communication, creativity and discerning through listening and, most of all, fun!
Birdsong School of Music supplies the tools and leadership for children to express themselves musically with rhythm, instrument playing, singing, drama, art and improvisation. All this leads to a child that naturally progresses to read, understand music and apply their knowledge to their chosen instrument.
Seating is limited, and social-distancing measures will be followed. For more information and registration, visit DixiePAC.net or call Ms. Shelia at 731-584-7068.
