NASHVILLE (May 27) — The tri-counties of Carroll, Henry and Weakley and the state of Tennessee had improved employment statistics for the April 2021 reporting period. According to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the state’s overall unemployment rate is 5.0 percent, down from 5.1 percent in March 2021 and a full 10.8 percent lower than April 2020’s rate of 15.8 percent, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
