Five from County Named to West Tennessee All-Stars, Game Canceled

Posted

Senior football players were recently named to the 2020 West Tennessee All-Star Game roster, including five from Carroll County. The ninth annual game was scheduled for December 11 at University School of Jackson, but it has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizers plan to spotlight each of the All-Stars on the West Tennessee All-Star Football Game Facebook page over the coming weeks.
The announcement of the cancellation was made Monday, November 23 and read, in part, “We appreciate all the support and excitement for the Ninth annual West Tennessee All-Star Football Game. We were hopeful that we would make it to game day in December but as everyone knows, COVID-19 has been on the rise. Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the game. We are sad for these senior football players and their fans, but we truly feel this decision is in the best interest of the health of our all-star communities. We hope to still make this honor count as much as we can for these all-stars so stay tuned for more info on the draft, gifts, etc!”
Among the 85 West Tennessee seniors named to the team are McKenzie Rebel Logan Lyles; West Carroll War Eagles Jack Barrow, Cody Wildridge and Jesse Mounts; and Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tiger Noah Hampton.
