Gleason Wins Two Over Clarksburg

Gleason Takes Two from Clarkburg

GLEASON (November 23, 2020) – Gleason’s Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs earned two victories over the visiting Clarksburg Lady Rockets and Rockets on Tuesday, November 23.

The Lady Bulldogs took a 65-37 victory in the first game, led by Chasney Brawner with 21 points followed closely by Alayna Anderson with 20.

Scoring by quarters was 14, 11, 21, 19 for Gleason compared to Clarksburg’s 8, 13, 4, and 12.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Brawner with 21, including 7 free throws, Anderson with 20, including 1 free throw and 2 three-pointers, Daisy Blevins with 11, Ava Sawyers with 6, including 2 three-pointers. Hallee Young with 3, including 1 free throw, and Rosaaron Ferrett and Jaeda Perry each with 2.

The Lady Rockets were led by Grace Bartholomew with an outstanding 15 points, including 1 three-pointer and 6 free throws, followed by Sarah Derryberry with 6 points, including 4 free throws, Makiya Abdallah and Carly Blount with 4 points each, Chloe Crum with 3 points, including a free throw, and Jasmine Bailey with 2 points.

In the boys’ contest, Gleason took a 53-42 win in a hard-fought contest. Gleason’s Elijah Young led all scorers with 20. The scoring by quarter for Gleason was 7, 20, 12 and 14. Clarksburg’s scoring was 14, 8, 9 and 11.

For Gleason, Young scored 20, including 1 three-pointer and 5 free throws, followed by Olen Reed with 15, including 1 three-pointer and 6 free throws, Garrett Pinkston with 13, including 1 three-pointer and 2 free throws, Kylan Borneman with 4, including 1 three-pointer and one free throw, and Brady Witherspoon with 1 on a free throw.

Clarksburg led in the first quarter. The team was led by Stefan Gilbert with 18 points, including 3 three-pointers and one free throw, and 3 players with 4 points each – Spencer Webb with 4 free throws, Brandon Pendergrass with 2 free-throws and a field goal, and Kris Hooker with 2 field goals. Dakota Garner added a free throw.
