HENRY - Gordon Ray McFadden, age 91 of Henry, Tennessee died Sunday, December 16, 2018. His funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Henry Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service in Henry Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris, Tenn. 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday at Henry Methodist Church after 10 a.m. until time of service.

Named as pallbearers are: Steven McFadden II, Dustin McClure, Jeff Finley, Eugene Finley, Michael Finley, Billy Joe McFadden, Danny Joe Melton, Tommy McFadden, Jr., Tim Reeves, and Monte Belew; honorary pallbearers: David Varner, Van Howell, Gene Page, Jerry Rayburn, Lloyd Lewis, Nathan Replogle, Phillip Steele, Dennis Irby, Eddie Turner, Randy Cate, Ted Finley, Harold Smothers, Terry Schukert, and Joseph Erdely, Jr.

Gordon Ray McFadden was born September 7,  1927 in McKenzie, Tennessee to the late Bruce Slatin McFadden and the late Alice Mildred Haynes Hundley. He married Bobbye Lee Dinwiddie McFadden on March 23, 1946 and she preceded him in death on April 27, 1987. Gordon is survived by daughter: Susan (Dennis) McClure of Henry; son: Steven Ray (Karen) McFadden of Clarksville; grandchildren: Steven Ray McFadden II, Kelley Elizabeth (John) Quick, Keri Lynette (Jordan) Knott,  and Dustin Glen (Abbie) McClure; great-grandchildren: McKenzie and Olivia Quick, Madison and Jesse McFadden, Kinslee, Jocee, and Jameson Knott, Warren and Falynn McClure; sisters: Jane (Harold) Smothers and Judy (Ted) Finley, all of McKenzie, Kathy (Tim) Gearin of Gleason; brothers: Billy (Peggy) McFadden of Huntsville, Alabama and Kenneth (Martha) McFadden of Louisville, Kentucky; and companion: Donna Erdely of Henry. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. McFadden is also preceded by sisters: Madeline Barker, June Howell, and Shirley Pierce; brother: Tommy McFadden and another brother, who preceded at birth.

Gordon was a member of Henry Methodist Church. He was Henry County Deputy, Henry Constable, Henry Alderman, Henry County School Bus Driver (Bus #11), and sole owner/operator of McFadden's Auto Parts and Garage from January 1, 1955 to date. Mr. McFadden was the oldest sole proprietor to date in Henry County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the WWII era.
