HCMC Announces Changes to ER Policies, DME Hours, and a New Service at Eagle Creek Clinic

Posted
PARIS (April 3, 2020)  – As changes continue to be announced by Federal, State, and Local governments, Henry County Medical Center continues to have updates to its services and visitation guidelines to ensure that our patients, partners, and community continue to be safe during this COVID-19 pandemic.
As we continue to navigate through Governor Lee’s Executive Orders and the needs of our organization, we continue to change our policies to be most effective.  Effective immediately, HCMC has changed its Emergency Room Visitation Policies and Procedures.
Every patient that presents to the Emergency Department must wear a mask and will be provided one.  Only patients will be allowed to wait in the ER waiting room. Family members or visitors must wait in their vehicles, providing a cellphone or make and model of their vehicle so that a nurse can contact them about updates related to the patient.
Again, no visitation will be allowed in the ER rooms unless:
There is a need for a caregiver,
The patient is under age and needs a parent,
Or, special circumstances approved by the medical provider (physician or midlevel) treating the patient.
Those that are allowed will also be required to wear a mask.  If a patient or allowed visitor refuses to wear a mask, the patient and caregiver will be asked to leave.
HCMC InHome Equipment + Supplies will be changing its hours of operation beginning Monday, April 6.  They will now be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are also asking that any discharges requiring durable medical equipment be placed before 3 p.m. each day.  There will still be personnel on call for after hours and weekend emergencies.
Lastly, Eagle Creek Clinic is now offering the option for patients to have telehealth visits with Samantha Davison, PA-C.  Patients are still able to come in for appointments Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and walk-ins are welcome. Eagle Creek Clinic is excited to be able to offer this service during this time for our patients.
HCMC Administration continues to follow the CDC guidelines as well as the TN Department of Health guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients, families, partners, and community.
How you can help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses such as Coronavirus:
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then discard in a trash.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
HCMC is making every effort to educate and inform the public on ways to remain healthy through our website and our social media outlets, including specifically rigorous and frequent hand washing.  Please check back often for updates including a section dedicated to COVID-19.
