Posted

PARIS — Henry County Medical Center announces the addition of two nurse practitioners to the Paris Women’s Center, continuing to grow forward in obstetrics and gynecologic services in West TN. Melissa Youree, APRN, BC and Rachel Holmes, FNP-C have both recently joined Paris Women’s Center and are available to see patients.

Melissa Youree, APRN, BC comes to HCMC and Paris Women’s Center from Union City, where she worked in women’s health for 16 years. Youree graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Martin, beginning her career in Martin working labor and delivery. Later on in her career, she attended Murray State University, where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner. She has always been involved with women’s health and has a true passion for it.

She is originally from Hickman, Kentucky and has always enjoyed the lake life, so she is very excited to be close to the lakes by coming to this area. She is very excited to join Paris Women’s Center and be a part of women’s lives during a very special time in their lives. Youree has always heard wonderful things about HCMC and Paris Women’s Center about the outstanding quality they provide and she looks forward to continuing the tradition of great care in her practice.

“At Paris Women’s Center, you are not a number, but an individual, and it comes down to quality and taking the time to give the one-on-one care to the patients,” said Youree. “Knowing you are being heard and validated is a true passion for me and I am so glad I can carry on that legacy at HCMC and Paris Women’s Center.”

Rachel Holmes, FNP-C is originally from Huntingdon and went to University of Tennessee at Martin, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Union University in Jackson. During her career, she has worked in home health and hospice, labor and delivery, as well as with Dr. Evans in Jackson. Knowing the amazing care that Dr. Evans provides, Holmes wanted to join her at Paris Women’s Center.

Since she was very young, Holmes wanted to work with babies, so being involved in women’s health is exactly where she wants to be. Her husband is a critical care paramedic and she has three children, Maddox, Miller and Maley. Her boys play baseball so they love to be at the park. Holmes is very crafty and she enjoys painting and is a part time florist.

“It has been an awesome experience working at Paris Women’s Center so far,” said Holmes. “I have worked with Dr. Evans in the past and I have gotten to know Dr. Whitfield, and they are both excellent physicians and care tremendously for their patients. The entire staff is excellent to work with.”

“Paris Women’s Center is very important to our area,” said Holmes. “There are so many women that don’t have access to close healthcare in the small towns near here, so HCMC and Paris Women’s Center is very essential to their health. It is an asset to the community and region we serve.”

HCMC Paris Women’s Center provides comprehensive treatment and routine care for women of all ages and in all stages of life. Drs. Evans and Whitfield along with Nurse Practitioners Kristian Elliott, Melissa Youree and Rachel Holmes believe in patient education, promoting a proactive approach to good health and preventative care. Paris Women’s Center is located in the HCMC Medical Arts Building, 300 Hospital Circle, Suites 101-104. HCMC Paris Women’s Center takes most insurance, including TennCare.
