Huntingdon Middle Celebrates Spring Sports at Banquet

The Huntingdon Middle School recognized its student-athletes at the annual banquet on Tuesday for the spring sports of girls’ soccer, boys’ soccer, baseball, and girls’ volleyball. The athletes for each sport all received a certificate of participation.

Individual Awards for boys’ soccer were: Defender Award; Wyatt Pruitt. Goalkeeper Award; Bryson Whiteside. Coach’s Award; Carson Watters. Big Boot Award; Ethan Raffield. Team Captain; Lucas Smith. MVP; Grayson Anderson. The soccer team finished its second season in existence with a 7-3 record and earned a region berth for the first time.

Individual Awards for baseball were: Most Improved; Gavin Gray. Dominate the Play Award; Owenn Hugueley and Cy Hankins. Mustang Award; Cody Wilson. Defensive Player of the Year Award; Maddox Holmes. Offensive Player of the Year Award; Hayes Eubanks (.450 average), Ace Award; Kenton Smith (.894 Era). The Mustangs finished the season as conference champs and had a record of 22-0. Last season the Mustangs were 18-0 and are on a 44-game winning streak.

The girls’ volleyball didn’t present any individual awards but were recognized for the hard work in their first-ever season and the improvement they made over the season.
