Hudson, Clark to Wed

Posted

Rev. Ellen Hudson and Rev. Dr. Tommy Clark are thrilled to announce their engagement to be married in a small, private ceremony in September on Clark’s family farm.
Ellen is the daughter of Iris (Tom) Carpenter of Memphis, Tenn., and Trent (Sherrye) Hudson of Gleason, Tenn. Having spent her early years in Gleason, she graduated from Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tenn. She studied Biology and Theatre at Bethel College/University before moving to Memphis to pursue a Masters of Divinity at Memphis Theological Seminary (MTS). Upon completion of her MDiv, she moved to Franklin, Tenn., to begin work on a new church development in Williamson County; still in development, Ellen serves as the mission planter/ pastor of the small group who calls themselves “Seekers”.
Tommy, son of Patty and Tom Clark of Lewisburg, Tenn., graduated from Cornersville High School and studied at MTSU before moving to Memphis to pursue his MDiv at MTS. While in Memphis, Tommy founded Urban Bicycle Food Ministry, a non-profit that seeks to provide food, fellowship, and basic necessities to those experiencing homelessness/extreme poverty. When he moved back to Middle Tenn. to pastor McCain’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Tenn., Tommy partnered with Nashville Burrito Ministry to bring UBFM to downtown Nashville. His passion for this work led him to earn his doctorate in Ministry, with which he graduated in May 2019 from MTS, where the happy couple met close to 7 years ago.
Now having partnered together in ministry and through life for almost six years, the Revs. Tommy and Ellen are excited to share their lives together, continuing to nurture and build up the Kingdom of God and each other.
