Humboldt Woman Dies After Near-Drowning in 1000-Acre Lake

LEACH (June 13) — A Gibson County woman was on life support after a near-drowning at the Carroll County 1,000-Acre Recreational Lake Saturday afternoon, June 13. Three days later, she died from complications.

Toni Manuel, 23, was pulled from the swimming area of the lake by bystanders. CPR was administered at the scene and she was airlifted to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She died Tuesday, June 16 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 30, 1996 to David Manuel, Jr. and Kelly Flowers.

In addition to her parents David Manuel, Jr. and Kelly Flowers, her son, Jaxon Manuel and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Humboldt Church of God.
