Huntingdon Board Approves Budget Amendments, Changes Meeting Frequency

HUNTINGDON (March 23) — The Town of Huntingdon Board of Mayor and Council will meet once monthly - the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:15 p.m., following a vote to do so on March 23. It was one of only a few rural municipalities in the state meeting more than once monthly.
In other business, the Council approved an engineering study by J.R. Wauford to enhance the wastewater services to the Carroll County 1000-Acre Recreation Lake. The total contract for the engineering is $191,000.
The Council approved mid-year budget amendments to the 2020-21 FY budget, approved the purchase of Bobcat Compact Excavator at $53,667; approved the contract with ATA to again perform the city’s audit at a cost of $25,150; approved an application with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development for an Infrastructure Planning Grant for a wastewater study. If approved, the grant is $50,000; and approved use of the city parks for various events.
