HUNTINGDON (December 10) — Huntingdon’s town council approved participation in the Tennessee Highway Safety Office High Visibility Enforcement Grant during a short session last Tuesday evening. Mayor Dale Kelley told the council that the grant funds in the amount of $5,000 must be used to provide active enforcement manpower for saturation patrols and checkpoints and to purchase behavioral safety-related supplies and small equipment.
Mayor Kelley announced that Team Triple A from Huntingdon raised over $58,000 for St. Jude during this past year and during their ten years of participation in the St. Jude Marathon, this local group has been in the top 20 of over 100-plus teams. Kelley also announced that the City Hall Open House is Wednesday, December 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Prior to adjourning, the council voted to cancel the regular meeting scheduled for December 24 and will meet again January 14, 2020.
