Huntingdon Cross Country Teams Earn State Bids

Huntingdon High School’s cross country teams compete Thursday, November 5 in the TSSAA Division I Small Class State Meet at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville.
The girls’ race begins at 2 p.m. with the boys following at 2:40 p.m.
The Fillies earned the region championship to advance to state. The team’s average time was 23:39.52, edging out runner-up Camden’s 23:55.67. Earning medals for Huntingdon were Lily Wortham in 2nd (23:00.59), Adalyn Allen in 7th (23:20.14), Annabell Singleton in 9th (23:45.07) and Kaylan Belew in 11th (23:47.33).
The Mustangs advanced as region runner-up. The team’s average time was 19:38.57, just behind champion Union City’s 18:55.66. Earning medals were Colton King in 2nd (17:13.72), Keller Smith in 8th (19:04.69) and Carson Warman in 11th (19:35.80).
