Huntingdon Mustangs Celebrate Tremendous Football Season

HUNTINGDON (December 16) — Huntingdon Mustangs celebrated another highly successful season during its annual football banquet held at the Huntingdon Church of Christ.
The Mustangs celebrated a perfect regular season and advancing to the semi-finals against Lake County, the 2019 Class 1A state champions.
Seventeen seniors are retiring from the Mustangs roster after the 2019 campaign. They are: #9 Hunter Ensley, #13 Brandon Lawton, #15 Konnor Pearson, #20 Bo McLemore, #23 Devin McClerkin, #27 Noah Belew, #42 Quinton Williams, #54 Brett Huss, #63 Dylan Armour, #65 Sebastian Kee, #70 Reed Jones, #73 Daniel Sullenger, #74 Drake Butler, #75 Nathaniel Cran-Lowe, #77 Jaylen Williams, #84 Cole Edwards and #85 Austin Baker.
Coach Eric Swenson said the seniors were possibly the best he has coached in his 30 years of coaching. He said he expects great things from the seniors.
Other team members included: Eddie Woods, Jacob Roberts, Elijah Flowers, Blane Fields, Malek Cannon, Grant Bartholomew, Caleb Balantine, Ty Kelly, Cade Wood, Ethan Reliford, Noah Smothers, Aden Hutcherson, Blake Bradley, Sean MaGee, Landon Gordon, Luke Furr, Nate Ricketts, Kaden Gibson, Luke Cooper, Hunter Britt, Jake Stokes, Sam Parish, Aidan Ninness, Braxton Montes Deoca, Darius Gordon, Colton Bush, Cole Ballard, Nate Kolwyck, Seth Hughes, Matthew Pelonero, Andrew Taylor, Christian Myles, Dillon Mann, Nathan Smith, Cater Cary, Ben Livingston, Ethan Peevyhouse, Blake Reeves, and David Downs.
Swenson thanked the team members, their parents, the Quarterback Club, Marching Mustangs, chain gang, fellow coaches, wives of the coaches, representatives of the media, and members of the community for their unyielding support.
Cheerleader coach Julia Orr complimented the team and coaches for always including the cheerleaders in their activities. She thanked the parents, the four senior cheerleaders for their leadership, the entire squad for their enthusiasm and their work. A special thanks went to Ginger Taylor, who served as interim coach while Orr was on medical leave. Each cheerleader received individual recognition.
Cheerleaders include: Abby Ballard, Katie Simpson, Nevaeh Carruthers, Madison Noonan, Tatum Nolen, Katie Coleman, Ellia Lewis, Abby Lewis, Jenna MaGee, Sadie Shands, Kensley Crossno, Adyson Shands, Mattie-Claire Roberts, and Lydia O’Bryant.
Coaches include: Eric Swenson, Robbie Miller, Rick Wallace, Zac Crocker, Nathan Wallace, and Jake Warbritton.
