DUI — A McKenzie man was arrested July 28.
Patrolman Cody Walker charged James H. Newbill, 55, with driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Walker’s report, he observed a vehicle on Veteran’s Drive that was swerving on the road.
When he stopped the vehicle, he found Newbill to be the driver. Walker could smell intoxicant coming from Newbill, who said he had been drinking earlier.
When Newbill was instructed to perform sobriety tests, he said he couldn’t do them. A cup with alcohol in it was found in the center console of the vehicle. Newbill also had a pipe in his pocket and admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that day.
