Multiple Charges ­— A Dyersburg man was arrested on September 8.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Austin B. Tinkle, 18, with two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of felony reckless endangerment, public intoxication, simple possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for leaving the scene of accident. Also, a Huntingdon minor was charged with runaway, domestic assault, and one count of aggravated assault. According to Cole’s report, while the mother of the minor was trying to get her daughter out of the truck, which was driven by Tinkle, the minor struck her mother several times on the left side of her face with a closed fist. Tinkle then accelerated and ran over the woman’s left leg, and then proceeded to back over her leg again and stopped on top of it. Tinkle fled the scene, crashing into the rear right side of the minor’s father’s vehicle. The minor was taken into custody and transported back to Madison Oaks, where she was on leave for a weekend pass. Eventually, deputies were able to locate Tinkle, who had a second minor in the vehicle, who had also fled Madison Oaks. Both parties admitted to smoking marijuana and taking illegal pills. During a search of Tinkles’ vehicle officers discovered two partially smoked marijuana joints, a set of digital scales, and several empty pill bottles.

Theft — A Huntingdon man was arrested on August 24.
Patrolman Cody Walker charged James Gukeisen, 31, with two counts of theft under $1,000 and one count of theft over $1,000. According to Walker’s report, Walmart security called in for an officer review of store surveillance footage pertaining to a shoplifting incident. Authorities identified the man in the surveillance footage as James Gukeisen.

Public Intoxication — A South Carolina man was arrested on August 31.
Sergeant Brad Allen charged Joshua Valery Craft, 29, with public intoxication. According to Allen’s report, Craft was laying on the bench in front of Express Deli and Grocery when approached by authorities. Allen reported that Craft reeked of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and slurring his speech.

Driving on Revoked — A Huntingdon woman was arrested on September 11.
Patrolman Bradley Roberson charged Cassidy L Meggs, 30, with driving on a revoked drivers license (third offense). According to Roberson’s report, a traffic stop was made for a vehicle driven by Meggs without a tag light. It was confirmed by computer check that Meggs’ license was revoked.

Multiple Charges — A Wisconsin man was arrested on August 15.
Investigator Joseph Hedge charged Dontavious McCain, 22, with theft under $1,000 and resisting arrest. According to Hedge’s report, McCain was in custody at Walmart for scanning a less expensive sticker for a more expensive item he had bagged. When asked to empty his pockets, a plastic baggy was found. McCain then pulled away as if trying to leave the room but officers were able to make the arrest.

Public Intoxication — A Trenton man was arrested on September 12.
Sergeant Chris Cole charged Nathan J Hammonds, 26, with public intoxication. According to Cole’s report, Officers were dispatched to Walmart parking lot to perform a welfare check on Hammonds. Hammonds was located standing in the parking lot with bloodshot eyes, where he was observed as having slurred speech and smelling of an intoxicant. Hammonds told officers he had nowhere to go and wanted to go to jail due to being suicidal and wanting to hang himself.
