Public Intoxication — Denise Martin, 51, of Milan was cited for public intoxication following a December 5 incident at a local hospital.

According to the report by Officer Zachery Barker, he went to the emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County regarding a woman suspected of being under the influence of methamphetamine. Officers spoke with Martin, and she told officers she had been using meth. Martin was transported to the Carroll County Jail.

Attempted Theft — Marion Nanney, 35, of McKenzie was cited for theft of property/conduct involving merchandise on December 4 after allegedly trying to steal items from a local department store.

Officer Labe Ezell reported that he went to Walmart in Huntingdon, where Nanney was being detained by store security. 

According to security personnel, Nanney went through self checkout and bagged up $58.99 in groceries without paying for them. 

Nanney was stopped by security before leaving the store with the items.

Shoplifting — Kelli A. Newmon, 49, of Huntingdon was cited for theft of merchandise under $1,000 on December 9 for allegedly trying to steal items from a local business.

According to the report by Officer Christopher Cole, officers went to Cashsaver in regards to a shoplifter. 

The store manager told officers that Newmon had concealed items in her purse and then tried to leave the store without paying for them. 

The total value of the items was $5.78.
