DUI — Cary Matthew Parris, 63, of Huntingdon was charged with DUI following a February 17 traffic accident in Huntingdon.
According to the report by Lt. Angela Barker, she responded to a wreck with possible injuries near the Walmart entrance next to Murphy’s and found Parris passed out behind the wheel of a red pickup truck that had run off the roadway. When Barker finally managed to wake Parris up, she observed that his eyes were red and glassy and he smelled strongly of alcohol. Three bottles of liquor were found in Parris’s vehicle – two empty and one with some alcohol still in it. Parris was unable to perform field sobriety tests or even comprehend Barker’s request that he take a blood alcohol test. Barker obtained a warrant for a blood test, and the test was administered at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Domestic Assault — Johnathan C. Neely, 20, of Hollow Rock was arrested for domestic assault following a February 17 incident in Huntingdon.
According to the report by Officer Labe Ezell, he responded to a call about a woman yelling for help from a moving vehicle. Ezell pulled the vehicle over on High Street and Shyanne Mingle immediately exited the vehicle and ran towards Ezell’s patrol car, yelling “He’s going to kill me. Please help me.” After putting Mingle in the back of his patrol car, Ezell confronted Neely, who was driving the vehicle in question, and put him in the back of another officer’s patrol car. When questioned by officers, Neely said he and Mingle were having “relationship issues.” Neely said he and Mingle were going through the drive-thru at Wendy’s when Mingle tried to get out of the vehicle. Neely said he pulled her back into the vehicle, held her down by her wrists, and bit her on the nose. Mingle’s story matched Neely’s account of the incident, and she had visible injuries consistent with being bitten.
