Theft of Merchandise — Savannah Michelle Whitfield, 24, of Huntingdon was cited for theft of merchandise under $1,000 on May 15.
According to the report by Officer Labe Ezell, he received a call from store security at Walmart in Huntingdon that Whitfield had been in the store switching bar codes on items in the self-checkout line. Ezell conducted a traffic stop on Whitfield and transported her back to Walmart.
During questioning, Whitfield told Ezell she attempted to scan the bar code on a Kool-Aid packet in place of other items she was putting in her buggy, and when she was confronted by employees, she left the store. She also told Ezell she had attempted to do the same thing at Walmart the previous night but got nervous and left the store before completing her checkout. All items were returned to Walmart, so Whitfield does not owe the store restitution.

Upon arrival, Ezell observed the remains of a small white dog belonging to Mitcheal Horton with bite marks to the neck. A witness said that he saw a boxer-pit bull mix belonging to Campbell kill Horton’s dog in the yard just a few minutes earlier. The witness said he tried to stop the attack before Campbell came and managed to get control of her dog, but the smaller dog had already been killed.

Officer Aaron Patton reported that he pulled over a white Ford cargo van driven by Mohundro after clocking the van at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 22 North. A computer check showed that Mohundro’s license was suspended for failure to pay taxes in Kentucky.
Criminal Trespassing — Debbie E. Brewer, 45, of Huntingdon was charged with criminal trespassing during a May 11 incident at a Huntingdon residence.
According to the report by Officer Shelton Moon, officers responded to a call at 210 Old Stage Road about a banned person being at the residence. Officers spoke with Debbie Williams, who said her nephew had a female subject that had been previously banned from the residence in his room. During a search of the room, officers found Brewer hiding in a closet. Moon noted Brewer had been previously warned by officers not to be on the property.
