Shoplifting — Sheridie Renae Smith, 42, of 141 Highland, Bruceton, was charged with Theft of Merchandise from Walmart on Jan. 20 by Officer Angie Barker.
On Jan. 20 at approximately 1:36 p.m., Officer Barker responded to a call to go to Walmart in regards to a shoplifter that store security had in custody. The Walmart security person stated Smith had knowingly and willingly concealed several items in her purse in an attempt to leave the store without paying for the items. All clothing items worth $141.64 were recovered, but can’t be resold. Restitution is due in the amount of $141.64. She was cited into General Sessions Court for theft of merchandise under $1,000.
Walmart stolen items returned for $1,143.48 gift cards - On Jan. 18, Officer Brad Allen was dispatched to Walmart who was told by security officers that Cassandra Pierce, 25, of 25, of 29611 Broad St., Bruceton, had on five different occasions and selected different items and then returned the stolen items for gift cards with the total being $1,143.48. On Jan. 17, she was advised to come to Walmart to speak to store security to whom she admitted stealing the items and returning them for gift cards.
She was charged with five counts of Theft of Property conduct involving merchandise. Just a few of the items included baby bottles, baby wipes, Pampers diapers, batteries and crib set.
Littering Arrest Made — Christopher Ethan Johnson, 18, of Roy Fields Road, Huntingdon, was arrested on Jan. 14 for littering. On Jan. 3 officer Brad Allen was dispatched to A1 Pro Wash at 19165 Main Street where business owner Anthony Thomas said he had a person on his video camera dumping garbage in one of the car wash bays.
Johnson also did some damage to the boom, foam brush and weep gun as he was leaving the bay. Allen also filed a crash report due to the damage to the property.
