Huntingdon Swept By Trinity Christian

Huntingdon opened their basketball season last Friday night playing host to Trinity Christian in a pair of Hall of Champion games.

TCA – 67, Fillies – 40

TCA came out with the hot hand outscoring the Fillies 18 – 9 in the opening period and it did not get much better from there. Huntingdon was outscored 16-7 in the second period and found themselves trailing 32-16 at halftime.

Huntingdon came out with the hot hand in the third quarter ouscoring TCA 18-14 but still trailed 46-32 at the end of three periods. TCA outscored Huntingdon 21-6 in the fourth period to finish the contest.

Huntingdon was led by Kaci Fuller with 11 points followed closely by Brooke Butler and Tyasia Reed with 10 and 9 points respectively. Adyn Swenson added 4 points, Lia Fuller had 3 points, Addison Postlewait chipped in two points, and Greenlee Sharp had 1 point for the Fillies.

Macey Lee led all scorers with 22 points followed by Emma Pagoaga with 13 points. Sally Howell had 9 points, Olivia Lee with 7 points, Alyssa and Amelia Goebring with five points each, Emma Hannaford with 4 points, and Hanna Yarbrough with 2 points for TCA

TCA – 83, Mustangs – 68

The Mustangs did not fare any better than the Fillies being outscored in three of the four periods. TCA led 23-18 at end of the first period. The two teams scored 18 each in the second period with TCA leading 44-33 at halftime. The third period was also close with TCA edging the Mustangs 21-18 during the quarter to lead 62-51. The final period saw TCA score another 21 points while the Mustangs tallied 17 points.

Nik Bynum led Huntingdon with 14 points followed by Will Nellet and Milton Clark with 9 points each. Kyrien Jordan with 8 points, Ben Taylor and Devontavious Pruitt-Hutch with 7 points each, Javon Pritchard with 6 points along with D’Allen McCord and Jeb Atkinson with four points each.

Will Keltner led TCA and all scorers with 32 points followed by Eli Cross with 17 and Braden Sallee with 16 points. Reed Champion added 6 points while Isaac Northcut and Levi Cottrell chipped in 4 points each.
