6 eggs, separated
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 cups flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon alspice
pinch salt
1 1/2 cup blackberry jam
1 cup frozen or fresh coconut
Beat egg yolks until creamy. Beat egg whites until stiff. Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolks. Blend in flour, soda, buttermilk, spices, jam and coconut. Fold in egg whites. Pour into a greased tube pan. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
