McKENZIE — Mr. James “Buddy” Marshall Hutchens, 83, of McKenzie, Tennessee, died Thursday, May 21, 2020 at his home.
Funeral services were Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Bro. Donald Mitchell officiated the service. Interment followed in Mixie Cemetery.
Pallbearers who served were Steven Ruder, Brendon Kammer, Grady Cary, Chris Lowe, Jeremy Lowe, and C. J. Burhans. Honorary pallbearer was Jeremy Cary.
The family received friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, 9 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Hutchens was born June 3, 1936 in Paris, Tennessee, to the late James Mitchell and Mary (Rushing) Hutchens. He was a crane operator for LTV Steel and a Volunteer Fireman in New Elliott, Indiana. His favorite hobby was riding his Harley Trike. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Becky Forrest, Nancy Grooms, and Dorothy Naylor.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Hutchens, two daughters, Deborah Ruder (Danny) of Griffith, Indiana, Shannon Burhans (David) of Portage, Indiana, two sons, Barry Hutchens of McKenzie, Michael Hutchens (Sandy) of Portage, Indiana, and one brother, Troy Hutchens (Nica) of McKenzie. He also leaves six grandchildren, Steven Ruder, Nikki Ruder, Brendon Camer, Kim Lock, Taylor Burhans, C. J. Burhans, four great-grandchildren, Skyler Engblom, Autumn Engblom, Dakota Lock, Willow Lock, and many nieces and nephews. +
