PURYEAR — Jesse K. “Jess” Moody, 28, of Puryear, Tenn., died Thursday, November 7, 2019, at his residence.
He was a 2009 graduate of Henry County High School in Paris.
Jess was a special patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for 18 years. He enjoyed playing video and other games with his friends, and he loved his family and friends very much. He was a member of Puryear Baptist Church.
Jess was born August 26, 1991, in Murray, Kentucky to Jeff Moody and Janet Fisher Moody, who both survive, of Puryear.
Along with his parents, he is also survived by his girlfriend and fiancée of six years, Aly Calhoun of Puryear, Tenn., one sister, Angel Evitts of Puryear, one nephew, Avery Evitts of Puryear, grandparents, Edna Moody of Puryear, and Stella Hutchens of Puryear, one aunt, Patty Kennedy of Puryear, two uncles, David (Diane) Fisher of McKenzie, Tenn., and Lyndel (Sherry) Fisher of Newbern, Tenn., and special friends, Sarah Murphy, Alan Coleman, Wes Smalley, Joey Davis, Joe Violet, Jared Parrish, Zach Baker, Aurora Lucy, B.J. Brent Brown, Zach Hoover, Will White, Chase Pealer, and Jay Flancham.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Moody, U.L. Fisher, Alice Jo Fisher, and Charles Hutchens, one uncle, Larry Kennedy; and one cousin, Jay Kennedy.
Arrangements were handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, Paris, Tenn.
The funeral service was Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Puryear Baptist Church, with Bro. Larry Simmons and Bro. Mike Rhodes officiating. Jess’s special friends served as pallbearers.
Burial was in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear.
