McKENZIE — A Memorial Service for James Lormann, is Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt- McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2019, 1:00 p.m.. until service time.

James Lormann loved God and spent time with him daily.  He was married for 41 years to his wife Sylvia.  He retired from Sprint Communications and was living on Liberty Acres, his small farm in Henry, Tennessee.  James graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Political Science in 1970.  In his early years, he took over the family real estate business, Lormann Realty, in Casselberry, Florida.  At 26, he was the third in the family to hold the post as Mayor of Longwood in 1974, making him the youngest mayor in Seminole County.  Mr. Lormann served as President of the Seminole County Board of Realtors in 1976 and was also accepted into the National Society of Fee Appraisers.  Other notable accomplishments include serving as President of the Young Republicans for Seminole County and the President of the Casselberry Rotary Club 1983-84.  

Jim liked to fish.  He participated in many local Bassmaster's tournaments, placing 1st or 2nd more often than not.  His other hobbies included golfing, playing Pinochle, and walking on the beach with his wife.  James Lormann is survived by his wife, Sylvia Walker Lormann; mother, June Lormann; sister, Sandee Honeycutt; son, Matthew Lormann (wife Katie); daughter, Nika Wright-Osmond; grandchildren, Jennifer Wright Torres (husband Armando); Lindsey Wright Ford (husband Bryan); Payten Osmond; Logan Osmond; and great-grandchildren Emree Ashlyn and Estella Sylvia Torres.
