Lady Rebels Advance to Finals with Win Over Fillies

HUNTINGDON (May 10) — The McKenzie Lady Rebels defeated the host Huntingdon Fillies 7-3 in Monday’s District 11A Semifinals to advance to the title game.
McKenzie struck first with a run in the top of the first, but Huntingdon took the lead with a pair in the bottom of the second. The Lady Rebels regained the lead and pulled away with three runs each in the fourth and sixth. The Fillies plated their final run in the home half of the sixth.
Lady Rebel Savannah Davis went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, a walk, four RBIs and three runs scored. Anna Robinson was 4-for-4 with two runs scored. Briley Auvenshine went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Katie Chesser was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Payton Ognibene went 2-for-3 with a walk. Nicole Gibson and Belle O’Brien were each 1-for-4. Jaden Barton was 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Huntingdon’s Hannah King went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Shelby Childress was 2-for-3. Ava Ryan Canovan went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Rylee Holladay was 1-for-1. Kenadie Gibson went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. Adalyn Allen was 0-for-3 with an RBI. Kayla Pulling went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.
Payton Ognibene earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing three earned runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking two.
Rylee Holladay got the start for the Fillies, allowing one earned run on seven hits while striking out one and walking none in three innings. Natalie Kreuziger threw the final four frames and took the loss, allowing six earned runs on eight hits while striking out eight and walking three.
