McKENZIE (October 29) — McKenzie Middle School hosted Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Thursday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels controlled the first half and held off a big Lady Tiger rally down the stretch for a 25-20 win. The Rebels built a large lead over three quarters, but the Tigers finished strong to cut the final gap to 41-28.

The Lady Rebels led 5-2 after the opening frame, led by Ally Gibson with a three-pointer. Sophie Pate had a pair. Keely Williams scored two for Central.
McKenzie had a 12-4 advantage in the second quarter, led by Morgan Little with seven, including a three. Carli Beeler scored four, and Gibson hit a free throw. Williams and Olivia Scott each had a pair for the Lady Tigers. At the half, the Lady Rebels led 17-6.
The third was a 6-6 wash. Williams led the scoring with four points, and Maria Santiago had a pair. Little hit another three for McKenzie, Gracie Aird had a pair, and Pate hit a freebie. Entering the final frame, the Lady Rebels led 23-12.
Central rallied 8-2 in the fourth to make it interesting, led by Lilly McGee with four points. Scott and Williams each added a pair. Little had McKenzie’s two points.
Lady Rebel Morgan Little led all scorers with 12 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
