Lady Rebels End Season in Opening Round with 1-0 Loss

MURFREESBORO (November 6) — For the third consecutive year, the McKenzie High School Lady Rebel soccer team saw their season end in the opening round of the TSSAA Class A State Girls’ Soccer Tournament. McKenzie faced Adamsville Wednesday at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex and fell, 1-0.
The Lady Rebels and Lady Cardinals battled hard for 80 minutes with the only goal coming in the 65th minute. McKenzie goalkeeper Gracie Dillingham showed her skills with 14 saves in the loss.

The Lady Rebels managed just one shot on goal, coming off the foot of Allie Chappell late in the first period. McKenzie ends the season with a record of 11-4-1.
Adamsville was defeated 3-0 the following day by Alcoa. Signal Mountain defeated Alcoa 4-1 Saturday to claim the Class A crown.
Westview, McKenzie’s chief district and region rival, was also defeated in the first round, 7-0, by Cosby.
