McKENZIE/MARTIN (September 24, 26) — The previously-unbeaten McKenzie High School girls soccer team took two tough losses last week to fall to 7-2-1 on the season. Tuesday, the Lady Rebels hosted Scotts Hill for a non-district contest and fell 2-0. Thursday, they traveled to face District 13A foe Westview and were edged 4-3.

Scotts Hill scored twice in the first half for the win. Lady Rebel Goalkeeper Gracie Dillingham had five saves in the loss.

McKenzie kept it close throughout but ultimately took a one-goal district loss. Lady Rebel Maggie Aird scored a pair of goals, and Allie Chappell had the other. Goalkeeper Gracie Dillingham recorded six saves.
The Lady Rebels will wrap up the regular season with a pair of home games this week. Tuesday, they will host Milan for a non-district game at 5:30 p.m. Then, Thursday, they will host region foe South Fulton for the season finale and celebrate Senior Night. McKenzie seniors will be recognized on the field at approximately 5 p.m.; the game begins at 5:30 p.m.
With only four teams in District 13A, the Lady Rebels (1-1 in D13A) are guaranteed a postseason berth. With a win over South Fulton Thursday, they will clinch a home game to begin the district tournament.
