GLEASON (September 26) — Mrs. Sherri Brawner’s Pre-K students celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day at Gleason School. Students rotated to apple-themed learning centers to practice a multitude of skills, such as shapes, colors, fine motor skills, counting, and graphing. Activities included: threading applejack necklaces, creating apple art, tasting apples, graphing different types of apples, determining if apples sink or float, and creating artistic apple trees with a variety of materials. As the excited Pre-K students moved eagerly from center to center, they were assisted by Gleason High School FCCLA students, led by Mrs. Sandy Bennett. The older students worked with the younger students as learning partners, making the learning experience memorable and enjoyable for all.

Pictured (L to R): Mrs. Sandy Bennett’s High School FCCLA students, Daisy Blevins and Cheyenne McKeithan, work together with Mrs. Sherri Brawner’s Pre-K students at Gleason School to help students celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day in a fun learning environment.
