Lisa Norris, Ph.D. will participate in the 2021 U.S. Supreme Court Summer Institute for Teachers. She is one of 60 educators across the U.S. who was chosen to participate.
Dr. Norris is the teacher of Criminal Justice at the Carroll County Technical Center in Huntingdon. She is a graduate of McKenzie High School, and earned a master’s degree from Bethel and a doctorate from Walden University. She previously taught Criminal Justice, Orientation, and Critical Thinking at Bethel University. Norris has worked as a sheriff’s deputy and was the co-founder of Carroll Academy. She has also trained at the UT-Knoxville with the Forensic Anthropology Center and is also certified as a security guard.
COVID-19 pandemic forced this year’s event to be virtual. The online program begins June 17 and ends June 23 and provides information about how justices are nominated, how cases are selected to be heard, plus information on prior court cases and participation in mock cases.
