The McKenzie High School baseball team played just three games before the season was suspended in mid-March and then ultimately canceled.
Head Coach Chris Wall told The Banner, “I’m bummed that we couldn’t continue our season after starting off 2-1. The arrival of the season was quick for our seniors and this team, and just like that, it was over. Our seniors and our team worked incredibly hard to prepare for this season, and to see it come to an end the way it did is hard. Our seniors will be greatly missed, and I know they have made some lasting impressions on each other, their teammates, our coaching staff and this community.”
The 2020 Rebels include seniors West Cook, Evan Jarrett, Riley Joyner and Cameron Kee; juniors Brandon Boaz, Eli Surber, Phillip Smith, Ethan Travis and Nick Simpson; sophomores Zayden McCaslin, Collin McLearen, Trey Cook, Jon Haney and Jake McDaniel; and freshmen Jackson Cassidy, Ty Anderson, Chaten Bivens, Brayden Birmingham and Nolan Renfro.
