McKENZIE, Tenn. - Funeral services for Marian Newberry Smith are Saturday, March 7, 2020 at noon at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Smith, age 95, died, Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at AHC McKenzie. She was a homemaker, a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church, where she was the first church secretary, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the McKenzie Garden Club and the Bethel Dames and a Cub Scout den mother.

She was born December 6, 1924 in Weakley County to Curtis Brown and Aileen Knox Newberry.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas Knox ( Rhonda) Smith of McKenzie, daughter-in-law Dottie Smith of Chattanooga, sister, Carol Edmonds of Memphis, four grandchildren, Julie (Jamie) Ganz, Mark (Amy) Smith, Chuck Smith and John (Ally) Smith and four great-grandchildren, Hadley Smith, Knox Ganz, Gemma Ganz and  Finley Smith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Thomas Howard Smith and her son, Dr. William (Bill) Curtis Smith.
