McKENZIE , Tenn. - A Memorial service for Mrs. Martha Joann Hickman, 91, will be Sunday, March 5, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church- McKenzie. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday 1 p.m. to  3 p.m. Brother Kenny Carr is the officiant and there is a private burial to follow.  

Mrs. Hickman, a retired elementary school teacher in Gleason and McKenzie, died Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at AHC in McKenzie (McKenzie Healthcare and Rehab).  She was born on January 29, 1932 in McKenzie, Tennessee to Aubrie Roy and Vera Green Blackshear Arnold. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gaylon Wallace Hickman, who died October 1, 2019, her son, Daniel Sheridan Hickman, two sisters, Ruth Forbes and Frances Beebe, and two brothers, Paul Revere Arnold, who died in WW II and John Howard Arnold. 

Survivors include her daughter, Gaye Lynn (Dale) Coleman, her son, David (Lynda) Hickman all of McKenzie, five grandchildren, Jacob (Misti) Corpus Christi, TEXAS, Rebekah (Travis) Wales of Burns, Tenn., Lauren Hickman of McKenzie, Meagan Hickman of Panama City Beach, Florida, Sheridan (Chase) Mendenhall of Liberty, Tenn., eight great-grandchildren: Ginny Wales, Anna Beth Coleman, Lynnsie Coleman, Creek Coleman, Silas Coleman, Olivia Wales, Miles Mendenhall, and Lucas Mendenhall.
