ATWOOD — Martha McGregor, 94, died peacefully at her home in Atwood on August 13, 2019. She was surrounded by her family. She was born February 22, 1925, to Reuben and Mae Murchison McNatt in Maury City, Tenn. Mrs. McGregor was a member of the Atwood Church of Christ and served the church as a Sunday School teacher for many years. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of the church.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Peabody College, now known as Vanderbilt University, and returned to Atwood to begin working at the Citizen’s Bank and Trust. She retired after 39 years, several of which, she served as president.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill McGregor, a sister, Margaret Bumpus and her brother-in-law, Marvin Bumpus. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Martha Fly (Robert) of Milan, two sons, Charles McGregor (Judy) and Joe McGregor (Cindy), both of Atwood, seven grandchildren, Valori Bonds (Rodney) of Murfreesboro, Julie Ann Walker (Phillip) of Medina, Bridget Bolton (Jacob) of Milan, Tabatha Ward of Milan, Lela Walker (Chris) of Clinton, Kentucky, Trent McGregor of Atwood and Rob Fly (Rachel) of Medina, fifteen great-grandchildren, Hayden Bolton, Bryce Bolton, Hudson Bolton, Brooklyn Bolton Gregory (Sam), Jaxon Hames, Brinley McAlexander, Joseph Green, Lucus Walker, Conner McGregor, Caiden McGregor, Aly Walker, Gage Walker, Gentry Bonds, Mackey Bonds, Charli Ann Bonds and one great-grandchild arriving in October, Reed Fly, a great-great granddaughter, Julia Jane Gregory and one great-great granddaughter arriving in October, Gracelyn Ann Gregory, two nieces, Wuzzy Grooms (Joe, deceased) Tissie Moore (Paul) and a nephew, Mac Bumpus (Jane).
Funeral service were Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Atwood Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Services were at Atwood Church of Christ Bodkin Funeral Home was in charge.
