McKenzie, Tenn. — Funeral Services for Mary Frances Pate, 92, were Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Brother Greg Barker officiated. Internment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
She was born April 23, 1926 and died August 10, 2018.
Mrs. Pate, a retired school teacher for McKenzie Special School District, died at NHC Health Care Milan Friday, August 10, 2018. She was born in McLemoresville, Tenn. to Prentice L.and Willie Mae Traywick Fite. Mrs. Pate was a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees, taught Sunday school and was active with the Meals on Wheels program, She was also active in McKenzie United Neighbors. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy G. Pate, a great-grandson, Kane Scott, her sister, Martha “Tinsey” Martin, a brother, Charles “Chicken” Fite and two nephews, Lee Fite and Phillip Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzy (Jackie) Pemberton of Milan, three grandchildren Stephen (Loretta) Pemberton, Leslie (Charlie) Brown and Jaclin (Greg) Scott, thirteen grandchildren Kirsten Brown, Cy Pemberton, Courtney Brown, Seth Pemberton, Jacob Brown, Kara Scott, Levi Brown, Gabe Scott, Zeb Brown, JP Scott, Anna Brown, Ethan Brown and Tillie Kay Pemberton, one niece Carol Barker and two nephews Richard (Kathy) Fite and David (Janice) Fite.
Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels program at First United Methodist Church or McKenzie United Neighbors. Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home had charge. For more information, phone 731-352-4848.+
