KENTON — Mary Janie Jackson, 94, of Kenton, Tennessee died on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at AHC of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, October 10, 1925 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Allen Kirk and the late Agnes Tidwell Kirk. Mrs. Jackson served as secretary for U. S. Congressman Ed Jones for thirteen years and U. S. Congressman John Tanner for nine years. She was a devoted member of Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services for Mrs. Jackson are 4 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2020 at Cool Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Adams officiating. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Seigel Jackson of Kenton, Tennessee; three daughters, June Perritt of McKenzie, Tennessee, Ellen Alford (Andy) of Kenton, Tennessee and Deana Kendell (Keith) of Troy, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Sara Jane Kendell, Stephen Perritt, Carol Landerman, Laruen Cunningham and Cody Alford and three great-grandchildren, Graham Landerman, Luke Landerman and Grant Cunningham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Talmadge Jackson, her sister and brother-in-law, Willo Dean Smith (Bill) and one son-in-law, Duane Perritt.
Honoring Mrs. Jackson as pallbearers will be Keith Kendell, Andy Alford, Cody Alford, Albert Jackson, Richie Fowlkes and Mickey Roberson.
